Spiaggia Rosa

Spiaggia Rosa on the island of Budelli is one of the most famous and protected beaches in the world. Its remarkable pink-hued sand, colored by fragments of coral, shells, and microscopic organisms called Miniacina miniacea, makes it a unique geological wonder within the La Maddalena Archipelago. Since 1994, access to the beach itself has been prohibited to preserve this fragile ecosystem. However, visitors can admire its extraordinary beauty from a designated wooden boardwalk and viewing platform above the beach. The contrast of pink sand against crystal-clear turquoise water is simply breathtaking. Boat excursions from La Maddalena or Palau bring visitors to Budelli where the viewing path offers magnificent photo opportunities. The surrounding waters of the archipelago are equally stunning and open for swimming and snorkeling.
